[9:08pm] Yari: Sorry to hear
[9:08pm] wodensday: We have successfully proposed a system for creating and editing website content, and hope to implement it ASAP as well as get people writing.
[9:09pm] wodensday: If anyone would like to read, the resolution can be found on last Tuesday's agenda:
[9:09pm] Yari: jokeefe we have radiojoe and joe, you may exit as necessary, please take care of yourself.
[9:09pm] papegaai: Title: Outreach 08/10/2021 - United States Pirate Party (at
[9:10pm] wodensday: Sorry, didn't mean to go at once
[9:10pm] Yari: wodensday thank you for linking that! that's okay, i accidentally pressed enter.
[9:10pm] wodensday: Ah, I see
[9:11pm] Yari: Radiojoe id please?
[9:11pm] Radiojoe: thank you, William Dappen California
[9:11pm] Yari: Welcome!
[9:12pm] Bosun: I move we accept the resolution.
[9:13pm] Yari: bosun, please specify? The resolution linked by wodensday?
[9:13pm] Bosun: Yes
[9:14pm] Yari: Okay, motion on the table.
[9:15pm] Bosun: Be it resolved that: Articles are first submitted by the writer via a dedicated section on the USPP website. The writer does not need any roles or qualifications to submit a work. The work is then announced in a channel dedicated to the writers and editors as an article to be edited.
[9:15pm] Bosun: It is then edited by users who have been given the role of "editor" in the public discord servers, which will be given to users who ask an admin for the role and agree to follow a set of rules and guidelines based around maintaining the original idea of the article. The writer shall be able to edit alongside the editors during this process, but shall not be the final person to edit the article prior to the next step.
[9:15pm] Bosun: After the article has been edited by at least one editor, it will be brought by the editor to a moderator and the original writer (who shall not be anonymous) to confirm the submission. Upon confirmation the article will be released. If the article is denied, it shall be brought back to the editors to confirm or deny it for re-edit, If the article is denied the article will be dropped, if it is accepted it will begin at the 2nd step of
[9:15pm] Bosun: the process once again. After the article is denied three times by a moderator or the writer, a irc meeting will be set up to discuss the article, including but not limited: to the moderators and writer involved, and any main editors of the article.
[9:15pm] Yari: Radiojoe or Joe, we could either second or ask for more discussion.
[9:15pm] Yari: Bosun thank you for pasting text.
[9:16pm] Radiojoe: I wrote this, so I'm not sure it is in the interest of democratic proceedings to give my opinion on it
[9:16pm] Joe: 2nd
[9:16pm] Yari: You are a voting member rn
[9:16pm] Yari: seconded, all in favor?
[9:17pm] Radiojoe: aye
[9:17pm] Bosun: Aye
[9:17pm] Joe: Aye
[9:17pm] Bosun: Bam!
[9:17pm] Yari: three ayes, motion passes
[9:17pm] Yari: The resolution is adopted.
[9:18pm] Yari: Okay, thank you for that productive interjection to repirts, bosun
[9:18pm] Yari: Reports
[9:18pm] wodensday: Side note - as the outreach committee, we were under the impression that this may not need PNC approval to implement as it can all be done essentially in-house. Do we have some sort of standard as to what we need to bring to the PNC? As to not bog this chat down with our own matters
[9:20pm] Yari: Wodensday, if you choose to bring something to the pnc, the pnc can choose to either shut it down or pass it. I would say broadly you can't collaborate with other committees or disburse funds
[9:20pm] Yari: But, as far as I know, there is no written rule
[9:20pm] Bosun: As long as we are small we can Keep It Simple and Stupid.
[9:20pm] Yari: We are writing the precedent as we go
[9:21pm] wodensday: Building the train as it runs down the track. Got it.
[9:21pm] Yari: each committee must report to the pnc
[9:22pm] Yari: Ergo, you are obligated to report that you have passed a resolution and that it generally contained (x)
[9:22pm] Yari: That is how i woild interpret it, at least
[9:22pm] wodensday: Yes, of course.
[9:22pm] wodensday: Understood.
[9:22pm] Yari: But by bringing tthe entire text of the resolution, it became open to pnc debate
[9:22pm] Bosun: Don't befuddle us with simple logic.
[9:22pm] Yari: Anyway, moving on.
[9:23pm] Bosun:
[9:23pm] Yari: Joe! Anything to report for platform or treasury?
[9:24pm] Joe: I spoke with Jamie about a time to meet either Tuesday or Wednesday.
[9:24pm] Yari: about?
[9:24pm] Joe: To work on the budget.
[9:24pm] Yari: Ah. Lovely!
[9:25pm] Yari: feel free to update via sab!
[9:26pm] Joe: That said, I will be on tonight on the discord if anyone wants to join me. I plan discuss foreign policy in light of things going on in Afghanistan.
[9:26pm] Yari: what time?
[9:26pm] Joe: Immediately after this meeting.
[9:27pm] Yari: Cool!
[9:27pm] Yari: Thank you.
[9:27pm] Yari: Pmchi is not present, but will be giving pamphlet to outreach at next meeting.
[9:27pm] Yari: Bosun, anything from vc?
[9:28pm] Bosun: Not at this time.
[9:28pm] Yari: moving on then! We dont have any old business!
[9:29pm] Yari: New business!
[9:30pm] Yari: I would like to ask that the pnc discuss my proposal for the local organization channels for the discord server:
[9:30pm] Bosun: How local?
[9:30pm] Yari: They would be grouped in the same manner as the us census groupings.
[9:30pm] Yari: Each state will have a channel.
[9:30pm] Yari: And territory
[9:31pm] Yari: And dc
[9:31pm] Yari: Census groupings can be found here:
[9:31pm] papegaai: Title: List of regions of the United States - Wikipedia (at
[9:31pm] Yari: It is the first on the list
[9:34pm] jokeefe: seems fine. if a state wants to move, they can petition
[9:34pm] Yari: Yeah, thats what i figure
[9:35pm] wodensday: Will it be grouped by region or division?
[9:36pm] Yari: division.
[9:36pm] Yari: Nine groups
[9:36pm] Yari: Unless the pnc suggests otherwise
[9:37pm] Yari: in my role as discord operator, i serve at the whim of the pnc.
[9:37pm] Joe: Why not each state as they become recognized?
[9:37pm] wodensday: Because this will help states can recognized.
[9:38pm] Yari: ^
[9:38pm] jokeefe: mostly just a way to organize the Discord state party channels
[9:38pm] Yari: A place to organize disparate people toward that goal
[9:38pm] Yari: Jokeefe exactly
[9:39pm] Yari: discussion is open, motions are welcome as well.
[9:40pm] jokeefe: It isn’t like we will have a regional organization between national party and states.
[9:40pm] Bosun: BRB
[9:40pm] Joe: I have nothing else to add, motion to Adjourn?
[9:41pm] Bosun: back.
[9:41pm] Yari: motion on the table.
[9:41pm] Bosun: second
[9:42pm] jokeefe: let’s settle this so it doesn’t carry over to next week
[9:43pm] jokeefe: can we vote on Yari’s grouping before we adjourn?
[9:43pm] Yari: jokeefe, it doesnt have to. The issue was discussed, and if no motion was brought forward, i will assume nobody wants one.
[9:43pm] Joe: My mistake, I thought it was settled.
[9:43pm] Yari: Would you like to vote?
[9:43pm] Yari: no vote is.mandated in discord bylaws
[9:44pm] Yari: the only thing with a mandated vote is the arbiter bot, and honestly Im not ready for that yet.
[9:44pm] jokeefe: From the agenda: “approve the finalized state groupings"
[9:44pm] Yari: Approve != vote
[9:45pm] Yari: but it can be
[9:45pm] Yari: we have a motion with a second to adjourn
[9:46pm] Yari: if you want to vote on this for reasons other than formality, please suggest a retraction of the adjourn
[9:46pm] Joe: I have no objections, Motion to approve the finalized state groupings.
[9:46pm] Radiojoe: 2nd
[9:46pm] jokeefe: I am not insisting on a vote. a are there any objections is fine
[9:46pm] Joe: Please retract my previous motion to adjourn.
[9:47pm] jokeefe: consensus is fine
[9:47pm] Yari: adjournment retracted, motion and seconded.
[9:47pm] Yari: Any objections?
[9:47pm] Yari: Hearing none, passes.
[9:48pm] jokeefe: For record: going from proposal, discussion to an assumption of approval is not fine
[9:49pm] Yari: True, jokeefe. Apologies.
[9:50pm] jokeefe: No worries.
[9:50pm] jokeefe: Adjourn then?
[9:50pm] Joe: 2nd
[9:50pm] davidd: hi
[9:50pm] Yari: motion to adjourn seconded.
