  • discussion of meeting time.

Discussion

  • Meeting started at 9:01 PM EDT
  • The proposed addition to the opening up government plank from the 2026-02-18 meeting was revised to.
As it currently stands, America's electoral system is broken. Two political parties have entrenched themselves, and they prevent other viewpoints from being heard. To address this, the Pirate Party proposes that legislatures should be elected via proportional representation, candidates should have less barriers to ballot access, and voter registration should be automatic.

Consensus was for that text to be sent to PNC for approval.

  • Review of policy proposals for expanded platform document.

Most of the meeting focused on going through an etherpad with policy proposals and reviewing specific proposals for inclusion, revision, or exclusion. The addition of two planks was proposed in the meeting.

Bodily Autonomy
    more protections for queer people
more protections for trans people and trans healthcare.
    federal right to abortion.
    other consistent policies.

Improving Goods
    right to repair
requiring long manufacturer warranties on certain durable goods to reduce planned obsolescence.
    other consistent policies.

It was consensus that these plank ideas should be sent to the PNC for some kind of review before further work is done.

  • There was discussion on incorporating the pan-americanism plank into the foreign policy plank in some way, but no concrete proposal was made.
  • Meeting was adjourned at 10:10 PM EDT
