Definition

  • We are a post-ideological meritocracy.
  • Policy and decision-making must be based on evidence and scientific reasoning.
  • The approach that works best, or the person who does the best job, must be chosen over the alternatives.
  • Where possible, we avoid making decisions or selecting leaders based on tradition, popularity, authority or ideology.

Justification

Hard work means reward. Those who put in effort should be those in charge. This will lead to capable leaders and a more diverse society. A more diverse society means a more equal one.

The core value detail : The approach that works best, or the person who does the best job, must be chosen over the alternatives. was replaced by : We choose a specific approach because the available evidence shows that it is the best way to promote our values.

The standing point is : We do not make decisions based merely on tradition, popularity, authority or political expediency.
