PNC Meeting Minutes: December 21st, 2025

December 21st, 2025 PNC Meeting was one of the weekly meetings of the Pirate National Committee (PNC). It was the second meeting of having public meetings be on Jitsi full time. This meeting took place on Jitsi.

Old Business

2026 Conference Updates:

 -A reaffirming that the conference will be in Boston.

YPUSA Updates:

 -The YPUSA have been working on the bylaws, editing and rewording it, and close to being ready to submit to the PNC.
-Social Media accounts for outreach have mostly been created.
-The previous meeting discussed on what the YPUSA will be focusing on, issues, platforms, etc.
-Needing to link the YPUSA discord to the USPP website for easier access.

Old State Party and Candidate Updates:

 -

IT Committee Updates:

 -There were several votes in the committee about what to do next.
-A need to update the wiki for security reasons.
-There were debate and mixed feelings of moving away from discord.
-Discussion on moving on from discord to Odoo.
-The immediate steps is to update the wiki and establish an Odoo platform.

Fundraising Updates:

 -A need to raise money is necessary
-A 'treasure chest' need to be out in the open so to speak.

New Business

Conference 2026 Update:

 -The tournament to decide the host city was mixed and probably won't be done again.

New State Party and Candidate Updates:
-IL:

 -Illinois will have scheduled meetings for 2026.  

-NV:

 -Discussion of getting Nevada a PNC member state.
-Questions from NV rep on how state chapters work and answers to them.

-WV:

 -Discussion on WV being in volunteer purgatory and the issues rural states have getting volunteers. 

Current Discussion of the Two Party System:

 -A big rant on the two party system.
