[9:01pm] Joe: Unfortunately, Bosun nor Sayyida will be able to attend tonight. If we may, lets keep the discussion as open as possible and we will just post it all at the end.
[9:01pm] Yari: Understood
[9:02pm] Joe: With that said, is there anything you need to order to get things going in your prospective states?
[9:03pm] Yari: Not as of yet for me. Although I might have some thoughts on that next week.
[9:04pm] Yari: What is our budget?
[9:05pm] Joe: We just recorded another video for the youtube channel. Doing an event in Worchester coming up to map cameras. Jokeefe does a really good job of organizing us every week.
[9:05pm] Yari: Do we have specific items that we've already ordered?
[9:05pm] jokeefe: not that I know of
[9:05pm] Yari: Joe that sounds awesome
[9:05pm] jokeefe: We need to setup a way for people to donate to us
[9:05pm] Joe: Currently we have 130 last I checked.
[9:06pm] Yari: jokeefe: do we not have a donate button on website?
[9:06pm] Joe: We have a Zazzle account to set up for donations but there is a slight issue
[9:06pm] jokeefe: Besides the hundreds in in-kind donations
[9:06pm] Joe: The place for mail and the bank accounts are in two different states.
[9:07pm] Joe: So there is a slight logistical challenge we accepting all things.
[9:08pm] Joe: But that said we should be able to set up a "gofundme" for specific projects that we want to do. It more of what do we want to accomplish than how to handle the money.
[9:08pm] jokeefe: Mass Pirates use piryx, but that isn’t our only option
[9:08pm] Yari: Oh, point of order: are we identifying for this meeting?
[9:08pm] Joe: This is more of a casual meeting, but we can.
[9:08pm] Joe: Ids?
[9:08pm] Yari: Rose Klein, California
[9:09pm] Joe: Joseph Onoroski, Treasurer, Massachusetts.
[9:09pm] jokeefe: James O’Keefe, Secretary, Massachusetts
[9:09pm] Olivia_: Olivia Kristiann, PPI volunteer
[9:10pm] Yari: So donations
[9:10pm] Yari: Gofundme is a separate thing I think
[9:11pm] Yari: It would be nice to have a consistent method to accept donations
[9:11pm] Olivia_: Donation pages usually have a fee attached according to how much has been taken in. Look for one with the smallest percentage of funds they will deduct.
[9:12pm] jokeefe: Agreed. Where any citizen or permanent resident can just give their credit card and donate
[9:12pm] Yari: jokeefe: exactly
[9:13pm] Joe left the chat room. (Ping timeout: 258 seconds)
[9:13pm] Joe joined the chat room.
[9:13pm] Joe: We need to have a system by which we can take all of their information. If we do not get it all we may have to re-donated those funds to another cause.
[9:14pm] Yari: I wonder if there is already some sort of third party equivalent of actblue
[9:14pm] Yari: That we might be able to piggyback off of
[9:14pm] Yari: At least temporarily
[9:15pm] Yari: Until such a time as we can build our own system
[9:17pm] Joe: It would be easier to get one that is prebuilt, though not all are the same.
[9:17pm] Joe: Like Olivia said, there are donation pages out there that we can use.
[9:18pm] Joe: Do we want to start working on doing a digital national conference?
[9:18pm] Yari: Digital national conference?
[9:19pm] Joe: Like a Zoom call but for everyone in the US?
[9:19pm] jokeefe: https://www.g2.com/products/piryx-politics/competitors/alternatives
[9:19pm] papegaai: Title: Piryx Politics Alternatives & Competitors | G2 (at www.g2.com)
[9:19pm] jokeefe: well pirates who want to help
[9:20pm] Joe: I have heard of NationBuilder and been on before.
[9:20pm] Yari: When do you think would be best for a national conference
[9:20pm] jokeefe: for the mass conference we are looking at using https://bigbluebutton.org/ for our discussion sessions.
[9:20pm] papegaai: Title: BigBlueButton - Open Source Web Conferencing (at bigbluebutton.org)
[9:20pm] jokeefe: Nation Builder requires we move the site to them
[9:21pm] Yari: When are you having mass conference?
[9:21pm] jokeefe: I have used them in the past, but it wasn’t great
[9:21pm] Yari: Yeah I'm not a fan of nation builder
[9:21pm] Olivia_: Dealing with the drama and harassment I have been dealing with for several months over Zoom, Pirates outside the United States won't really jump on board from my own experience when I encourage Zoom use because it's the more stable and reliable service out there now.
[9:21pm] jokeefe: Nov 14-15
[9:22pm] Joe: nah, but it did mostly do the job.
[9:22pm] Yari: Olivia_: not using zoom, just zoom likes
[9:22pm] Joe: Zoom has is problems, like any platform Olivia_ I prefer Discord myself.
[9:23pm] Joe: Yeah, Also Jitsi has been working really well for the mass pirates too.
[9:23pm] Joe: Though today it had some issues.
[9:24pm] Yari: Okay, makes sense.
[9:24pm] Yari: Suggestions for when might be best for a national conference?
[9:24pm] Olivia_: We don't even use Zoom anymore but one Pirate still won't shut the hell up about it and ruins every Pirate Beer we've had for months.
[9:25pm] Yari: We're definitely going to have to adjust and rethink national strategy after election month no matter what the outcome is
[9:25pm] Joe: I would suggest put it to a vote for the best date for everyone. Maybe over email?
[9:25pm] jokeefe: when is the next pirate beer?
[9:25pm] Yari: Now that I get them, sure!
[9:26pm] Joe: Sorry for not getting that done quickly.
[9:26pm] Olivia_: The 23rd is the next Pirate Beer.
[9:27pm] Olivia_: Meg has been there for two of them.
[9:27pm] jokeefe: thanks
