New Business

  • Conference planning update:
    • we are six or five weeks away
    • if there aren't sufficient nominations in place by next week, we should start pushing them
    • find the form that was used last time to get community panels
    • figure out who we want, pie in the sky for speakers
    • send out a press release ASAP
    • need help with tech support, could do a sort of dry tech run with OBS
    • do an email blast about the nominations form ASAP
  • Political Director talk with Matt:
    • better to have someone who is answerable to the exec committee
    • figure out how to adapt the platform into a political strategy for each term
    • political director would not choose candidates. State parties would.
    • go to exec comm and ask for direction about difficult choices
    • this position would, right now, help with local roles perhaps as well - but later on would just be national.
    • train candidates, give them a step-by-step guide, answer candidate questions, especially for federal candidates.
    • states could ask national for help, would be job of political director.
    • would not have a say over candidacy
    • a support position
    • could just have this position as an advisory position to the PNC instead of an officer
  • IL: would like to consider demoting public relations director to the same sort of level
  • PA: this position could also absorb state moderator position
    • this gives an interesting perspective on the ways we were talking about that particular role
    • an important role under this is also candidate recruitment
      • call the PR person scallywag

PA: motion that PNC sends the idea of political director to committee to write a motion dropped

IL: motion to remove nominations for PR director and State Moderator CA second

    • can be a temporary elimination - could come back if we decide that we want them back.

Passed unanimously
