[9:12pm] designanddraft: elisa miller, midwest, missouri
[9:13pm] Pirate_Joe: Joseph Onoroski, Vice-Chair, MA
[9:13pm] jokeefe: James O’Keefe, MA
[9:13pm] papegaai left the chat room. (Ping timeout: 246 seconds)
[9:13pm] jokeefe: I never got the email with tonight’s agenda
[9:13pm] jokeefe: would you post it here?
[9:14pm] papegaai joined the chat room.
[9:14pm] davidd_ joined the chat room.
[9:14pm] davidd left the chat room. (Remote host closed the connection)
[9:14pm] Pirate_Joe: Dear Pirates,
[9:14pm] Pirate_Joe: Ahoy! I hope all is well with you all. Tonight our Chair Megan will not be with us tonight. The plan for discussion is working on a national email list. Anyone who would like to add or change the agenda please let me know. I hope to see you on at 9 pm EST in the IRC, #USPP
[9:14pm] Pirate_Joe: Thank you,
[9:14pm] Pirate_Joe: Joseph Onoroski
[9:14pm] Pirate_Joe: Vice-Chair
[9:14pm] designanddraft: tonights agends platform
[9:15pm] Pirate_Joe: We can also discuss platform if you wish designanddraft
[9:15pm] designanddraft: i have a pretyped msg, it applies to more ppl obv
[9:15pm] designanddraft: Apologies for last week having triggered some stress about the candidacy of us president, in its traditional scope I can very much see the stress reasoning. The ideas I have of this project are different and I hope I will b able to paint more of this picture with u over the coming weeks. In short, I am running and it is on the pirate platform. Hope
[9:15pm] designanddraft: fully this evening we can get up to speed on platform topics, core decision making processes, centralized banking and laws off my body. Can someone briefly explain why or how the platform revision became necessary or come to be called unknown/undecided even by a few localized additions?
[9:17pm] designanddraft: email status should b addressed as well
[9:19pm] Pirate_Joe: I will be happy to address your concerns designanddraft, lets do the national email first and i will explain the reboot to the platform after.
[9:20pm] designanddraft: kk, status? dissaray or growwing or finding?
[9:21pm] Pirate_Joe: With the current state of our national party, there is little support or connection with each state. This has left each state to its own devices these last few years with only a code of conduct and basic party building kits
[9:21pm] Pirate_Joe: In order to solve this, I seek to establish a few key practices to build momentum.
[9:22pm] designanddraft: is there an email list?
[9:22pm] Pirate_Joe: The first was simply meeting every week which has had some success.
[9:22pm] jokeefe: designanddraft - there is
[9:22pm] Pirate_Joe: Next step will be to send our regular emails to all pirates at the end of each meeting.
[9:22pm] designanddraft: whats its number? i have stats of uspp twitter, looks good
[9:23pm] jokeefe: http://sab.uspirates.org/cgi-bin/dada/mail.cgi
[9:23pm] papegaai: Title: Subscribe to a Mailing List (at sab.uspirates.org)
[9:23pm] Pirate_Joe: I propose we include the meeting notes, minutes and next qeeks purposed agenda.
[9:24pm] designanddraft: how many emails in the list?
[9:25pm] designanddraft: r there lost old lists
[9:25pm] Pirate_Joe: We have the sab list, however I sent out a sab tonight and not everyone got it. I would prefer to build out a new activist list with each delagate state involved.
[9:25pm] jokeefe: I can setup such a list.
[9:25pm] K`Tetch: there are many old lists
[9:25pm] Pirate_Joe: We also need to start making waves in the social media front
[9:26pm] jokeefe: old lists are probably all gone, though
[9:26pm] K`Tetch: they are
[9:26pm] Pirate_Joe: Ahoy K`Tetch
[9:26pm] designanddraft: gone how? it is easier to reconnect than to introduce
[9:26pm] K`Tetch: oh, also - Andrew "K`Tetch" Norton - Ornory old git
[9:27pm] jokeefe: don’t know, designanddraft. site moved on since then
[9:27pm] K`Tetch: sites gone, credentials gone, acconuts vanished, services gone bust etc.
[9:27pm] K`Tetch: speaking of, I still have the old piratepad archives here to hand over to someone
[9:28pm] Pirate_Joe: I will be happy to take them, or perhaps jokeefe.
[9:28pm] jokeefe: How about we both take them
[9:28pm] designanddraft: indeed
[9:29pm] jokeefe: I got a copy, but I might have missed some
[9:29pm] designanddraft: so current total emails on current list?
[9:30pm] jokeefe: don’t know. would need to check the archive
[9:30pm] designanddraft: guessing?
[9:30pm] designanddraft: </>500
[9:30pm] jokeefe: I do not know, why?
[9:31pm] jokeefe: more than 100, less than a million
[9:31pm] designanddraft: lol
[9:31pm] • Pirate_Joe is confused by the question
[9:32pm] designanddraft: the reconnections with folks r in in the mid 4 didgets
[9:32pm] designanddraft: on the twitter
[9:33pm] jokeefe: Pirate_Joe: is this the beginning of a discussion on creating a new email list, or do you want to decide this today?
[9:33pm] designanddraft: if there is already a list that can grow use it
[9:33pm] Pirate_Joe: I washoping to push this through today so that by the end of the week we could be prepared for the next elections
[9:34pm] Pirate_Joe: We could use the current activist list and add all the emails as needed.
[9:34pm] jokeefe: activist list?
[9:35pm] Pirate_Joe: Our i could just create a massive chain mail and make google cry
[9:35pm] designanddraft: lol
[9:35pm] Pirate_Joe: Seems messy though
[9:36pm] jokeefe: I think deciding to change the email list requires more thought.
[9:36pm] davidd_ left the chat room. (Read error: Connection reset by peer)
[9:36pm] davidd joined the chat room.
[9:36pm] designanddraft: not changing the email list
[9:37pm] designanddraft: someone just needs to b in charge or rangling it, ive done it before, its a bear
[9:38pm] Pirate_Joe: Since the sab list does not seem to work, I would be happy just have something that works. So would you be willing use a different system?
[9:38pm] designanddraft: and sending a presidential announcement would b more exciting than meeting minutes, just sayin
[9:38pm] Pirate_Joe: The activist list seems to work, could we just use it?
[9:38pm] K`Tetch: theres an activist list?
[9:39pm] designanddraft: lol
[9:39pm] Pirate_Joe: In the interest of transparency, i would prefer to include the minutes.
[9:39pm] designanddraft: vote to extend, pardon
[9:39pm] Pirate_Joe: With a summary
[9:39pm] Pirate_Joe: 2nd
[9:39pm] Pirate_Joe: All in favor?
[9:40pm] designanddraft: y
[9:40pm] Pirate_Joe: Aye
[9:40pm] designanddraft: announcing that the platform is establisted is good+2
[9:41pm] designanddraft: topics, email managment and email content and frequency
[9:42pm] jokeefe: aye
[9:42pm] jokeefe: What activist list?
[9:42pm] designanddraft: idk
[9:42pm] designanddraft: platform by wiki
[9:43pm] designanddraft: The United States Pirate Party[1] (USPP) is an American political party founded in 2006 by Brent Allison and Alex English.[2] The party's platform is aligned with the global Pirate movement, and supports reform of copyright laws to reflect open source and free culture values, government transparency, protection of privacy and civil liberties. The U
[9:43pm] designanddraft: nited States Pirate Party also advocates for evidence-based policy, egalitarianism, meritocracy and the hacker ethic as well as the rolling back of corporate personhood and corporate welfare. The USPP has also made a priority to advocate for changes in the copyright laws and removal of patents. It is the belief of the party that these restrictions
[9:43pm] designanddraft: greatly hinder the sharing and expansion of knowledge and resources.[3]
[9:43pm] designanddraft: The party's national organization has existed in multiple incarnations since its 2006 founding. Its most recent is the Pirate National Committee (PNC), formed in 2012 as a coalition of state parties. The PNC officially recognizes Pirate parties from 8 states,[1] and tracks and assists in the growth of more state parties throughout the United States
[9:43pm] designanddraft: . The board of the USPP is the board of the PNC. The current Chair of the Pirate National Committee is Lindsay-Anne Gorski (née Brunner).[4]
[9:43pm] Pirate_Joe: The plan would be to create one for the national level. It would be a a task though.
[9:43pm] designanddraft: table managment till more ppl?
[9:44pm] designanddraft: frequency-quarterly?
[9:44pm] Pirate_Joe: Aye, table Management until next week
[9:45pm] jokeefe: I think it would be useful to have an activist list, but need to id what is amiss with the sab list before we decide to move it.
[9:45pm] Pirate_Joe: Point is, i would prefer a more proactive system than a wiki
[9:45pm] jokeefe: both have their place
[9:46pm] Pirate_Joe: Jokeefe, you were planning on doing training with me tomorrow anyways. May we touch base on this tomorrow?
[9:46pm] designanddraft: proactive as in software to manage?
[9:46pm] jokeefe: sure
[9:46pm] Pirate_Joe: Motion to table email system for discovery.
[9:46pm] designanddraft: or as in sending email frequencing?
[9:46pm] jokeefe: I am looking at the list. I got moved ot the black list. not sure why
[9:46pm] jokeefe: 2nd
[9:47pm] designanddraft: aye
[9:47pm] Pirate_Joe: All in favor?
[9:47pm] jokeefe: your email was sent
[9:47pm] Pirate_Joe: Aye
[9:47pm] jokeefe: aye
[9:47pm] Pirate_Joe: Against?
[9:47pm] Pirate_Joe: Motion passes.
[9:48pm] Pirate_Joe: Now, to answer your questions about the platform designanddraft
[9:49pm] designanddraft: oh proactive than wiki
[9:49pm] Pirate_Joe: Even though i am in agreement with the previous platform, it does not entail all the issues that we face, nor define a few key principles that are key to American politics and culture.
[9:50pm] designanddraft: such as...
[9:51pm] designanddraft: adding should b ok, subtracting should b suspect, but almost all things boil down to money and body, so specifics can get manuchy
[9:51pm] Pirate_Joe: Just as the cech or Icelandic Pirates, I seek to make and further our policy to better reflect us as Americans. The thought behind this is to really open up the party so that we can start working on gaining the maximum benefit and support.
[9:52pm] Pirate_Joe: We have a unique opportunity in history to make a party that has the potential to crush the current two parry system.
[9:54pm] Pirate_Joe: If we carefully consider our platform to support the American identity, then we not only get to gain the support to make the chages we seek, but define the nation and fight the tide of corruption thar has infected us.
[9:55pm] jokeefe: Having a more complete platform would be good
[9:56pm] Pirate_Joe: Corporate governance must end, but we need to treatment source of what created it in the first place. This will be a long battle and the more we harden the platform and hammer out the details, the harder our opponents will have in stopping the momentum.
[9:56pm] designanddraft: we have to save the world, that means distributing decision making skills getting off the kings money, leading the way as americans
[9:58pm] Pirate_Joe: Corporate leaders will not give up power willingly. We have to be sure that when we do this again, we have as few holes in the plan as possible.
[9:58pm] jokeefe: We are almost at 10pm
[9:58pm] designanddraft: thats one of the things we won the revolutionary war for, how more american is that
[9:58pm] Pirate_Joe: One final thought.
[9:59pm] designanddraft: platform is fine, submissions for additions
[10:00pm] Pirate_Joe: It is not enough for the common people. We need to add to it by quite a bit.
[10:00pm] Pirate_Joe: The platform should be worked on after the next elections.
[10:00pm] designanddraft: please watch the american dream film it is free on youtube, animated history of money, on the same page
[10:01pm] Pirate_Joe: That is all the time i have today.
[10:01pm] Pirate_Joe: Motion to adjourn?
[10:01pm] jokeefe: 2nd
[10:01pm] Pirate_Joe: All in favor?
[10:01pm] Pirate_Joe: Aye
[10:01pm] jokeefe: aye
[10:01pm] designanddraft: no one here is creating something after 13 years of its creation
[10:01pm] designanddraft: aye
[10:02pm] jokeefe: Massachusetts has
[10:03pm] designanddraft: but to act like there is not one and no one knows what it is?
[10:03pm] jokeefe: ?
[10:03pm] Pirate_Joe: No one said that.
[10:04pm] Pirate_Joe: We want to know your plan to presidential campaign. Key platform.
[10:05pm] designanddraft: it is a 3 pronged approach, everything after that is after that
[10:05pm] jokeefe: The platform is incomplete. It needs to be expanded to cover topics it doesn’t cover.
[10:06pm] Pirate_Joe: Specifically American issues.
[10:06pm] designanddraft: it is not really mine, thats why the platform
[10:06pm] jokeefe: Are we adjourned?
[10:06pm] Pirate_Joe: We are
[10:06pm] Pirate_Joe: Good night
[10:06pm] jokeefe: ok. will post the notes
