The US and the world is sliding away from support of the four freedoms - Freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom from fear, freedom from want. Assange and Manning are a slide into fear - fear of retribution for leaking information

Though if you work for or are in government, having a camera in your face should be part of the job.

Public places are public. Though for the government or a corporation there is a difference between recording something and following a person’s every move

There are only a hundreds instead of thosands.
But a simply policy of non-recording of others for profit would shut down most of them.
The question would be how to shut down their vendors, such as the camera makers.
