[9:10pm] tgr joined the chat room.
[9:11pm] Sayyida: Bosun I guess thats a good thing though
[9:11pm] sptankard: bosun, cool
[9:11pm] Bluestreak: https://pnc.piratenpad.de/PNC-2017-3-22
[9:11pm] Bluestreak: Agenda^
[9:12pm] bosun: We are stuck now with states in varied states ... the quorum issue is difficult because of that issue.
[9:12pm] Bluestreak: I am fine with letting everyone present vote at this point.
[9:12pm] sptankard: Do we have an index of what states are where?
[9:12pm] memberslarge joined the chat room.
[9:13pm] Bluestreak: Sort of ... (goes to fetch things)
[9:13pm] USPPGuest_js1 joined the chat room.
[9:13pm] bosun: I repeat myself ... So we need a better feedback loop regarding state status and participation.
[9:13pm] kusanagi: sptankard, typically that's a map. joking aside, it's somewhat scattered.
[9:13pm] Viktyr: I am loathe to suggest it, but have we considered an application process where State parties have to register with the USPP for official recognition?
[9:14pm] kusanagi: Viktyr, that's part of what the PNC is... or rather is meant to do.
[9:14pm] sptankard: I didn't put it on the agenda, but I'd also like to inquire as to CAPP's official status. (Perhaps better for next meeting.)
[9:14pm] kusanagi: We get into contact with an organizer(s) of a state party, then they work toward it.
[9:14pm] sptankard: Viktyr, kusanagi I got the impression that was already in place
[9:14pm] kusanagi: sptankard, as far as i'm aware, member status was lost in 2013 or so, but you can reapply whenever.
[9:14pm] sptankard: kusanagi, re: map, lol
[9:15pm] kusanagi: sptankard, yep, pretty much.
[9:15pm] sptankard: kusanagi, we'd like to reapply as soon as possible. Besides the PNC bylaws, is there any documentation on how to go about it?
[9:16pm] bosun: We have a set of rules ...
[9:16pm] Bluestreak: For sptankard https://pnc.piratenpad.de/State-20List
[9:16pm] kusanagi: that's the only thing. you guys are active online and off
[9:16pm] kusanagi: bosun, which are in the bylaws.
[9:16pm] sptankard: Bluestreak, thanks
[9:16pm] jokeefe: https://wiki.pirate-party.us/Pirate_National_Committee_(PNC)/Bylaws#Section_2:_State_Eligibility
[9:16pm] jokeefe: https://wiki.pirate-party.us/Pirate_National_Committee_(PNC)/Bylaws#Section_1:_Pirate_National_Committee_Membership
[9:16pm] jokeefe: https://wiki.pirate-party.us/Pirate_National_Committee_(PNC)/Bylaws#Section_3:_Representation
[9:17pm] Bluestreak: Thanks, jokeefe
[9:17pm] bosun: I would bet CA can make thaaat pretty quickly. You guys seem well organized.
[9:17pm] sptankard: kusanagi, was this a question or a statement "you guys are active online and off"?
[9:17pm] bosun: From the outside.
[9:17pm] Sayyida: As far as I can tell CA has the organizatoin
[9:17pm] kusanagi: sptankard, statement. from what i've seen on the slack, at least.
[9:18pm] sptankard: bosun, Sayyida I hope so. We're in a period of rapid growth, trying to organize everything at once
[9:18pm] sptankard: kusanagi, aha thanks
[9:18pm] Viktyr: kusanagi: Do we have another Slack?
[9:18pm] sptankard: Viktyr, the CAPP slack
[9:18pm] kusanagi: Viktyr, CAPP has its own
[9:18pm] Viktyr: Ah, I see.
[9:18pm] kusanagi: sptankard, no worries.
[9:18pm] Bluestreak: "Ratify the PNC Bylaws"... That's prolly all you still have to do
[9:18pm] bosun: We need the leadership of CA.
[9:19pm] kusanagi: that woud still be orion steele.
[9:19pm] kusanagi: iirc
[9:19pm] sptankard: yes Orion is president
[9:20pm] Bluestreak: "The Applicant State shall ask a current Representative in the PNC to be a Sponsor for their application." Gosh, do we even have an official rep present?
[9:20pm] sptankard: Is this a good time to inquire about some other points of the PNC Bylaws? Or should I wait until after other meeting agenda items have been discussed?
[9:20pm] bosun: I mean CA is a great state to have in the fold. It has the best position to fight the battles looming on the horizon.
[9:20pm] kusanagi: Bluestreak, you or jokeefe
[9:20pm] kusanagi: either one really is acceptable for MA.
[9:20pm] Bluestreak: jokeefe isn't rep but since he is here that's fine with me.
[9:21pm] kusanagi: I forgot who was which. I just drink coffee and know stuff. hah
[9:21pm] Bluestreak: I'm not the MA rep either.
[9:21pm] sptankard: bosun, I can't agree more
[9:21pm] Bluestreak: lol
[9:21pm] jokeefe: I sub for Moses
[9:21pm] Bluestreak: There we go, he's good to sponsor then.
[9:21pm] Sayyida: where is Moses?
[9:21pm] Bluestreak: The MA rep
[9:21pm] Sayyida: ah cool. well we got a stand in yay!
[9:22pm] Bluestreak: "Officially"
[9:22pm] jokeefe: Not here, unfortunately. I emailed him
[9:22pm] jokeefe: about the meeting
[9:22pm] jokeefe: We can sponsor CA
[9:22pm] • kusanagi throws confetti.
[9:22pm] Sayyida: I sponser CA
[9:22pm] Bluestreak: There MA sponsors CA doone
[9:22pm] Bluestreak: CA needs to ratify PNC by laws. easy.
[9:22pm] bosun: MA and WI
[9:23pm] Bluestreak: What else?
[9:23pm] sptankard: Sayyida, you're MA, sponsoring CA? Thanks
[9:23pm] Sayyida: Yep.
[9:23pm] kusanagi: No.
[9:23pm] kusanagi: Sayyida is WI.
[9:23pm] Sayyida: Yes Im WI
[9:23pm] Sayyida: im not from cali
[9:24pm] Sayyida: im supporting
[9:24pm] bosun: Elections ...
[9:24pm] sptankard: Ok so WI is sponsoring CA
[9:24pm] Bluestreak: Proposed date 4/5/17
[9:24pm] Bluestreak: MA is
[9:24pm] Bluestreak: Actually.
[9:24pm] Sayyida: I'm sorry sptankard I keep seeing your name differently hahaha I can't type it well
[9:24pm] Bluestreak: Right, jokeefe?
[9:25pm] Bluestreak: I see Spank t*rd.
[9:25pm] sptankard: lol
[9:25pm] Sayyida: Bluestreak
[9:25pm] Sayyida: yes
[9:25pm] Sayyida: so much... hahaha
[9:25pm] kusanagi: Hit tab.
[9:25pm] kusanagi: problem solved
[9:25pm] jokeefe: As long as we announce it with enough notice, having the elections in two weeks is fine
[9:25pm] kusanagi: sp tab
[9:25pm] bosun: Can we exec committee the CA app. befor the election if the approve the bylaws?
[9:25pm] Bluestreak: I am fine with that
[9:25pm] bosun: they
[9:26pm] bosun: Great
[9:26pm] Sayyida: got it thanks kusanagi
[9:26pm] sptankard: bosun, Bluestreak sounds good
[9:27pm] bosun: WI is having a quartly meeting at the end on March, I will report on CA.
[9:27pm] jokeefe: Bosun, the PNC (states) decide whether to admit CA
[9:28pm] bosun: We are trying to do this democratically ...
[9:28pm] jokeefe: per the bylaws
[9:28pm] bosun: I got that.
[9:28pm] Zarathustra-mob joined the chat room.
[9:29pm] bosun: When we put together WI we went by the by-laws.
[9:29pm] sptankard: So, what's the next step (following CAPP ratifying PNC bylaws) in terms of officialities?
[9:30pm] bosun: You have a rep join the madness that is PNC
[9:30pm] Sayyida: bosun, we aren't complete madness
[9:30pm] jokeefe: Have to meet the eligibility requirements, sptankard https://wiki.pirate-party.us/Pirate_National_Committee_(PNC)/Bylaws#Section_2:_State_Eligibility
[9:31pm] Bluestreak: The rep needs to be on the SAB list so that they will get notifications of meetings, in case we have one off schedule
[9:31pm] Bluestreak: We post to social media about them, too.
[9:31pm] Sayyida: I keep hitting buttons sorry!
[9:31pm] sptankard: jokeefe, I've been consulting those. Couple of questions: (1) How is "Adhere to the Core Values." evaluated?
[9:32pm] Bluestreak: jokeefe, does their slack channel count for "web presence"?
[9:32pm] Repentinus joined the chat room.
[9:32pm] Bluestreak: sptankard, we tend to take your word for it until someone complains
[9:32pm] bosun: We want the states to participate.
[9:32pm] jokeefe: would think web site would count as web presence, Bluestreak
[9:32pm] sptankard: (2) Do we need an Alternate Rep before beginning the process?
[9:32pm] jokeefe: I believe they have one
[9:32pm] sptankard: Bluestreak, ok
[9:33pm] kusanagi: Bluestreak, they also have social media
[9:33pm] sptankard: jokeefe, Bluestreak we do have a website calpirateparty.org
[9:33pm] Bluestreak: I think you are all set on that count then
[9:33pm] Sayyida: I've seen some of their logged meetings
[9:33pm] sptankard: also social media, and the web chat (slack / rocket chat)
[9:34pm] Bluestreak: It's 9:34
[9:34pm] bosun: You have the parts, just need to finish assembly.
[9:34pm] Bluestreak: halfway point.
[9:35pm] kusanagi: that's right, it only an hour now.
[9:35pm] kusanagi: -only-
[9:35pm] OregonGuest joined the chat room.
[9:35pm] Bluestreak: Ratify the PNC by laws at a meeting (soon) submit the name of your alt rep and we will approve you in exec cmmte
[9:36pm] Bluestreak: Preferably before the election that we hope to hold on the 5th?
[9:36pm] bosun: Beyond CA do we have any pending issues that need attention?
[9:36pm] sptankard: bosun, Bluestreak: Ok.
[9:36pm] Bluestreak: Confirm election date.
[9:37pm] Bluestreak: And discuss NYPP conflict?
[9:37pm] bosun: Do we have objections to the 5th?
[9:37pm] Sayyida: Bluestreak, that is an issue
[9:37pm] Bluestreak: Would like to leave time for RachelT
[9:37pm] Bluestreak: Well, maybe not.
[9:37pm] Bluestreak: The party who claimed to be wronged isn't here .
[9:37pm] bosun: If we have no objections to the election date let'ss do it.
[9:38pm] Bluestreak: 2nd
[9:38pm] kusanagi: One item at a time, please.
[9:38pm] sptankard: When are the next meetings before the April 5th? So that CAPP can be approved to PNC
[9:38pm] jokeefe: sptankard 1: Adhere to the Core Values - democracy, transparency, anti-patents, pro-sharing
[9:38pm] bosun: That will be an exec meeting. We can hold that swiftly and ad hoc.
[9:38pm] sptankard: I have no objection to April 5, as long as there is an opportunity for CAPP to be approved before then ?
[9:38pm] jokeefe: 2: Ideally, but we have been flexible
[9:39pm] Bluestreak: Yes. We will. Get the two things done at CAPP.
[9:39pm] OregonGuest: Is the ORPP involved here?
[9:39pm] Bluestreak: Vote to ratify bylaws, name an alternate

[9:39pm] kusanagi: OregonGuest, no.
[9:39pm] Bluestreak: Not officially but you are welcome to observe
[9:40pm] kusanagi: ORPP is nonexistent.
[9:40pm] bosun: Shall we call that approved?
[9:40pm] Bluestreak: aye
[9:40pm] sptankard: jokeefe, Bluestreak, bosun: Ok, thank you! Who should I contact about scheduling the ad-hoc exec meeting?
[9:40pm] Sayyida: aye
[9:40pm] Bluestreak: email me at sutralu@gmail.com
[9:40pm] Bluestreak: OK?
[9:41pm] sptankard: OregonGuest, can I get contact info for you? (I'm from California PP)
[9:41pm] OregonGuest: Let me know how to get the p.p. on the roster.. There is a group
[9:41pm] bosun: any of us O'keefe or I as well
[9:41pm] jokeefe: cool, thanks OregonGuest
[9:41pm] jokeefe: bosun ?
[9:41pm] kusanagi: OregonGuest, please register at crew.uspirates.org
[9:42pm] OregonGuest: Yes. Can you pm me in the FB group please? -Kristin Lipp
[9:42pm] Bluestreak: OregonGuest please contribute
[9:42pm] Bluestreak: https://pnc.piratenpad.de/State-20List
[9:42pm] kusanagi: have the group you have sign up there too, there is more than one person
[9:42pm] bosun: Sorry ... did not mean to step on the side conversation
[9:42pm] OregonGuest: Sorry + thank you
[9:42pm] kusanagi: No problem
[9:43pm] bosun: OK 2 items left
[9:43pm] bosun: Can we do an exec meeting on NYPP?
[9:43pm] kusanagi: What would that require?
[9:44pm] Bluestreak: Look, whomever follows the rules CAPP is chasing down rn will be the official party
[9:44pm] mcky: That would be a good idea
[9:44pm] bosun: basically a conference call
[9:44pm] sptankard: N.B. Over at CAPP we started putting together a roster / who's-who of USA pirates: https://pad.calpirateparty.org/p/outreach
[9:44pm] papegaai: Title: California Pirate Party Etherpad (at pad.calpirateparty.org)
[9:45pm] kusanagi: We have the CiviCRM system.
[9:45pm] kusanagi: Why is there multiple things doing the job of one?
[9:45pm] jokeefe: This is out of date, sptankard, but this is a start: https://wiki.pirate-party.us/State_Parties
[9:45pm] papegaai: Title: State Parties - United States Pirate Party (at wiki.pirate-party.us)
[9:45pm] kusanagi: s/is/are
[9:45pm] Sayyida: kusanagi, no idea
[9:46pm] Bluestreak: I nominate kusanagi for IT chair
[9:46pm] kusanagi: Bluestreak, no.
[9:46pm] Bluestreak: Yes.
[9:46pm] kusanagi: I don't have the experience for it.
[9:46pm] jokeefe: Also check https://wiki.pirate-party.us/Main_Page State Parties section
[9:46pm] kusanagi: A bench tech at best.
[9:46pm] papegaai: Title: United States Pirate Party (at wiki.pirate-party.us)
[9:46pm] Sayyida: kusanagi, do it. exp will come with time
[9:46pm] Bluestreak: Protem then
[9:46pm] bosun: OK - we table NYPP and refer to exec comitee
[9:46pm] sptankard: jokeefe, thanks
[9:47pm] kusanagi: Again, I asked what that would entail, bosun
[9:47pm] sptankard: kusanagi, what is the CiviCRM system used for at USPP?
[9:47pm] OregonGuest_ joined the chat room.
[9:47pm] kusanagi: sptankard, going to hold on that because it's getting late and a touch hectic. Rather hit the agenda items.
[9:47pm] sptankard: kusanagi, understood
[9:47pm] Bluestreak: 9:47... I move we yield the floor to RachelT
[9:48pm] bosun: We set up a conference call - Hey guys we need to get through the meeting
[9:48pm] RachaelT: Am I good to talk?
[9:48pm] bosun: Chair would like to hear a 2nd
[9:48pm] Sayyida: aye
[9:48pm] bosun: Go ahead
[9:48pm] kusanagi: No, because both Kael and I would like to see what's going on as far as you guys are concerned.
[9:49pm] OregonGuest_: Second a call!
[9:49pm] Bluestreak: OK well, then let's back up.
[9:49pm] Sayyida: Third Cali

[09:49pm] Bluestreak: I want kusanagi and kael to be heard if they want.
[09:49pm] OregonGuest left the chat room. (Ping timeout: 252 seconds)
[09:50pm] Sayyida: what is going on out there?
[09:50pm] Sayyida: as far as NYPP
[09:50pm] kusanagi: mcky, would you like to start?
[09:50pm] bosun: Can we have our guset first and discuss this in overtime?
[09:51pm] Bluestreak: Will you stay over bosun?
[09:51pm] Bluestreak: jokeefe?
[09:51pm] Bluestreak: I will
[09:51pm] bosun: I will
[09:51pm] kusanagi: The guest is honestly not a Pirate
[09:51pm] kusanagi: She's not been involved.
[09:51pm] Bluestreak: Yes she is.
[09:52pm] Bluestreak: No she isn't
[09:52pm] Bluestreak: oops
[09:52pm] RachaelT: I have been involved with a lot of tech-related activism (killing CISPA, etc).
[09:52pm] Bluestreak: Right but this is party business.
[09:52pm] RachaelT: But I am registered as no political party in Florida.
[09:52pm] Bluestreak: Liz has a point.
[09:52pm] kusanagi: Respectfully, we have a fledgling party.
[09:53pm] USPPGuest_js1: ^
[09:53pm] mcky: Let's see where do I begin. I joined the NYPP when it was basically dead, but Jay was the only one left, who had control of the official twitter account.
[09:53pm] sptankard: RachaelT seems quite involved in Pirate business from here web profile, and she did register space on the agenda.
[09:53pm] Bluestreak: Jay does not come to PNC or follow the code of conduct.
[09:53pm] OregonGuest_ left the chat room. (Ping timeout: 252 seconds)
[09:53pm] Sayyida: who has the floor?
[09:54pm] Bluestreak: I yeild
[09:54pm] bosun: Good.
[09:54pm] bosun: to who
[09:54pm] Bluestreak: mcky
[09:54pm] bosun: OK NYPP
[09:54pm] bosun: issue ... go on
[09:55pm] mcky: I attempted to try bringing it back to life since I had no clue if the NYPP group had anyone else left. Jay seemed excited about the idea. I slowly got control of the old NYPP page and attempted to add to it, but it was too much for me to do.
[09:56pm] mcky: The more I read of the messages on the page, the more I noticed he was taking credit for all the work.
[09:57pm] bosun: Do you have anyone else? A list ... a meeting group?
[09:57pm] mcky: I asked him one time about the whole issue that went down a few months ago, and I got pushed off about it. Like it was nothing. Funny how the twitter messages said otherwise.
[09:58pm] kusanagi: Yes, we do. We have the contact info from CiviCRM
[09:58pm] kusanagi: We are actively trying to put together a meeting, but the spam email issue was a bit of a hinderance.
[09:59pm] bosun: Yes I know we need to engineer a fix.
[09:59pm] kusanagi: We have some responses though, and hopefully a meeting will soo follow
[10:00pm] kusanagi: I actually got an email from someone who contacted before through the pad.. So it could be as simple as marking the email address not spam
[10:00pm] kusanagi: that said, it'll be easier when that is resolved.
[10:00pm] jokeefe: have more things to try
[10:01pm] bosun: What action would you like us to take?
[10:01pm] USPPGuest_js1: Visitor from AZ <what is the domain? I would offer to look at it when i have time. Though not looking to jump in over my head.
[10:01pm] kusanagi: I don't have anything in particular
[10:02pm] kusanagi: maybe mcky does? other than just support.
[10:02pm] Bluestreak: If I may...
[10:02pm] mcky: I orginial with the whole twitter account issue, I was actually orginially thinking of maybe working with him since I figured he actually had experince. The more I looked at the twitter account that represents NYPP, I noticed it was highly unprofessional, especially with all the webcam girls accounts it was following. After asking for the few millionth time if he wants help with the Twitter, he gave me the tiwttter password. I went into the account and read all
[10:02pm] jokeefe: You have access to the DNS settings on mayfirst, Bosun. feel free to take a look at it
[10:02pm] mcky: change the password on him
[10:02pm] mcky: and those two other guys who weren't even members
[10:03pm] Bluestreak: What other two guys?
[10:03pm] Sayyida: mcky i thought it was "hacked"
[10:03pm] Sayyida: guess that was bogus
[10:03pm] mcky: I was the one who "hacked" the account
[10:03pm] kusanagi: Sayyida, mcky took over the account from Jay.
[10:03pm] K`Tetch_: general rule of Thumb, Jay lies more than Trump
[10:04pm] Bluestreak: Not hacked.
[10:04pm] Sayyida: ouch.
[10:04pm] Sayyida: I just read the things about what happened on the fb page
[10:04pm] Sayyida: bogus
[10:04pm] mcky: There was lot more that went down, and I'm still processing all the craziness
[10:04pm] Bluestreak: His only recourse was to pitch a fit and acuse us all of complicity.
[10:04pm] bosun: I would still like an executive discussion and Jay should invited ... I don't like how he has played this infront of the Europeans.
[10:04pm] Bluestreak: I invited Jay
[10:05pm] Bluestreak: Repeatedly
[10:05pm] Bluestreak: He is not interested in going through official channels.
[10:05pm] K`Tetch_: Reminder, in 2010 Jay was kicked out of USPP for sending out a press release written entirely by him, in the party name, advocating for imigration visa fraud.
[10:05pm] bosun: And he does not show. Let the record state so.
[10:05pm] jokeefe: aye
[10:05pm] Sayyida: Bluestreak, if he's a "trump" you think he's going to show? Nope.
[10:05pm] Sayyida: aye
[10:05pm] kusanagi: He was also asked to eave NYPP in 2011.
[10:05pm] Bluestreak: I am obligated to offer him satisfaction.
[10:05pm] kusanagi: By myself, actually.
[10:06pm] Bluestreak: How did he get control of the twitter to start with?
[10:06pm] mcky: In Jay's messages, he bad mouths the USPP
[10:06pm] bosun: Yes I have seen that.
[10:06pm] Sayyida: so he is a "man without a country" and bad mouths the one he wants to be in
[10:06pm] Bluestreak: He didn't like something I tweeted as MAPP and immediately began accusing me of being a cop on Facebook.
[10:07pm] kusanagi: He has a history of doing that, Bluestreak.
[10:07pm] Bluestreak: I think all he cares about his the twitter account.
[10:07pm] kusanagi: That would be precisely correct.
[10:07pm] Sayyida: special kind of pety
[10:07pm] Sayyida: petty*
[10:08pm] bosun: From the outside he looks like an egomaniac.
[10:08pm] kusanagi: I'll hold my personal opinions of it
[10:08pm] Sayyida: so what are we doing about jay?
[10:08pm] Bluestreak: He demanded that USPP disavow the account he lost
[10:08pm] kusanagi: jokeefe, please stop sending DCC CHAT requests.
[10:08pm] Bluestreak: and recognize his new account.
[10:08pm] jokeefe left the chat room.
[10:08pm] Sayyida: He can not be the "rep" for someone who does not want him
[10:08pm] bosun: Well, he can't be on the PNC when he does not show up.
[10:09pm] K`Tetch_: PNG him
[10:09pm] mcky: Jay's going to that meeting being held by the German Pirate Party, unless that has changed
[10:09pm] jokeefe joined the chat room.
[10:09pm] jokeefe was promoted to operator by ChanServ.
[10:09pm] kusanagi: No, he's now even the special guest.
[10:10pm] mcky: Lovely
[10:10pm] jokeefe: wasn’t sending chats, kusanagi. tool was
[10:10pm] jokeefe: stopped now
[10:10pm] jokeefe: Would someone add the chat log after [9:49pm] Sayyida: Third Cali to https://pnc.piratenpad.de/PNC-2017-3-22 ?
[10:10pm] kusanagi: thank you.
[10:11pm] mcky: So there's nothing we can do about that issue?
[10:11pm] K`Tetch_: PNG him
[10:11pm] mcky: NYPP seen enough damage as it is.
[10:12pm] Bluestreak: PNG him?
[10:12pm] jokeefe: Would suggest anyone in NYPP who wants to build it, get together and do it, whatever others day
[10:12pm] jokeefe: do
[10:12pm] K`Tetch_: Persona Non Grata
[10:12pm] kusanagi: persona non grata.
[10:12pm] Bluestreak: I agree with jokeefe on this.
[10:12pm] Sayyida: jokeefe i did
[10:12pm] Sayyida: already
[10:12pm] Bluestreak: Do the foot work, get the PNC recognition. Settled.
[10:14pm] Sayyida: I do not want jay here persona non grata
[10:14pm] bosun: OK - Then I think we have a path. mcky - do the official work, have an organizing meeting and request recognition.
[10:14pm] mcky: Will do.
[10:15pm] bosun: OK , are we done now?
[10:15pm] jokeefe: I think so
[10:16pm] Sayyida: are we givng rachelt floor?
[10:16pm] bosun: Is she still here?
[10:16pm] RachaelT: Still here.
[10:16pm] bosun: Please , go ahead.
[10:17pm] RachaelT: Thank you for letting me speak at your meeting. I am here to talk about the UN human rights review of the United States in 2020.
[10:17pm] bosun: Have we flunked yet?
[10:18pm] Sayyida: I think we have
[10:18pm] RachaelT: About every four years, the UN does what is called the "Universal Periodic Review". This involves any human rights issue you want to bring up.
[10:18pm] RachaelT: You can literally complain about anything. From what I have been told, anyone can file a human rights report as long as it is no more than 5 pages and is submitted by September 19, 2019 (subject to change).
[10:18pm] Bluestreak: I'm sorry I have a question...
[10:19pm] RachaelT: Sure, go ahead.
[10:19pm] Bluestreak: When will the nominations for the elections be?
[10:19pm] kusanagi: it should be soon. by next week?
[10:19pm] Bluestreak: Thought we were going to cover that but we sort of skipped it
[10:19pm] Bluestreak: OK
[10:19pm] Bluestreak: Exec cmtt?
[10:19pm] Bluestreak: I will ping bosun and jokeefe.
[10:19pm] Bluestreak: Sorry
[10:19pm] Bluestreak: go on.
[10:20pm] bosun: Accept them on the list or contact you.
[10:20pm] RachaelT: Since anyone can submit reports, USPP may want to coordinate submissions, since there is an individual 5 page limit.
[10:20pm] Sayyida: I think that would be a good idea
[10:21pm] bosun: You want us to work with you or to submit as USPP?
[10:21pm] Sayyida: I have plenty I would like to complain about
[10:21pm] memberslarge left the chat room. (Ping timeout: 252 seconds)
[10:21pm] RachaelT: USPP could use this as a platform to promote human rights issues such as copyright, privacy, etc. The UN committee (human rights council) will make recommendations to the US. The US government then has to publish a response.
[10:22pm] bosun: I think we could claim many US violations under the UDHR.
[10:22pm] RachaelT: The US is monitored on the recommendations and how well (or not) it is complying.
[10:22pm] RachaelT: Yes, USPP could claim many, many, many violations under numerous human rights treaties that the US has signed.
[10:22pm] Sayyida: I can name hundreds.
[10:23pm] Sayyida: on US soil alone
[10:23pm] Bluestreak: I think this is a great idea.
[10:23pm] bosun: And treaties are law.
[10:23pm] Bluestreak: Universal human right to private communications.
[10:23pm] RachaelT: I would like to work with USPP to encourage people to submit the 5 page human rights reports. Sometimes, the Universal Periodic Review receives a lot of press attention, and USPP could use this to advocate for issues it believes are important.
[10:23pm] Bluestreak: Right to access life-saving information.
[10:23pm] Sayyida: the whole UNDHR is trashed over here
[10:23pm] RachaelT: I open the floor to any questions that anyone has.
[10:24pm] Sayyida: RachaelT, how do we go about doing that
[10:24pm] bosun: Thank you.
[10:24pm] Sayyida: I say we do it
[10:24pm] Bluestreak: Have you written anything so far?
[10:24pm] RachaelT: As far as I have been told, anyone can submit a 5 page report. The report can be a personal experience where your human rights were violated...or it can be broader and talk about broad policy issues.
[10:25pm] Sayyida: Is there a format?
[10:25pm] bosun: Do you have the URL for the submitting rules?
[10:25pm] RachaelT: The report deadline is two years from now, so the rules may change. From my understanding, you can write anything as long as there isn't cursing or threatening language. There will likely be more information on exact format closer to the deadline.
[10:26pm] Sayyida: obviously no foul language
[10:26pm] RachaelT: The submitting rules may change. It might be better to look at past submissions, to see kind what other people have submitted in the past.
[10:26pm] Sayyida: or intentions
[10:26pm] bosun: Are old reports on line?
[10:26pm] Bluestreak: We are 26 minutes past time
[10:26pm] Sayyida: I'm willing to stay as long as needed
[10:26pm] RachaelT: Yes, most of the old reports are online. I will email information to the USPP listserve.
[10:26pm] sptankard: RachaelT, thanks for speaking! Question: Are other organizations planning on organizing for submissions as well, and should we work with them (for example to divide+conquer different subject areas)?
[10:27pm] Bluestreak: Move to official end so that people can get to bed.
[10:27pm] Sayyida: can you get in contact with me
[10:27pm] Sayyida: sayyida@wipp.coop
[10:27pm] kusanagi: She will email the SAB list
[10:27pm] bosun: Any other comments before we end?
[10:27pm] Sayyida: sorry. I am on a different time zone. and youger
[10:28pm] RachaelT: If you have any questions, you can post to the USPP listserve or you can email me at ractack@mail.com.
[10:28pm] Sayyida: kusanagi, thanks!
[10:28pm] Sayyida: RachaelT, thats great
[10:28pm] jokeefe: I don’t have anything to add
[10:28pm] jokeefe: thanks RachaelT
[10:29pm] Sayyida: I'm good
[10:29pm] Bluestreak: Move to adjourn?
[10:29pm] Sayyida: thank you RachaelT
[10:29pm] Sayyida: i second
[10:29pm] Bluestreak: Thanks for posting the notes jokeefe
[10:29pm] bosun: OK adjourned.
[10:29pm] jokeefe: thanks
