<DreadPirateDrew> I am back.
<yari> Ty- our email is handled by the same provider that hosts our website
<yari> which is to say, paid for
<Ty-> (y)
<yari> but not on a per-message basis or anything
<jokeefe> Cost is ~$250/yr
<DreadPirateDrew> OK any other discussion on any of these items? Or can we move into old business?
<iAmV> What's old business today
<DreadPirateDrew> our election, and our two events
<iAmV> Needing ma, pa, or can to motion, right?
<iAmV> *ca
<JohnnyLemuria> Move to move to old business
<yari> we don't need a motion to go to old business
<yari> we just do it
<iAmV> Ooof
<DreadPirateDrew> No, if we are done with reports we move on.
<Dausume> I can report on recent platform stuff
<iAmV> Cool cool cool
<DreadPirateDrew> So old business then
<DreadPirateDrew> I quickly threw together a document on the pros of mapping cameras. it is in the camera mapping sub on the discord server. Would appreciate any feedback.
<Dausume> We talked over the voting process for establishing the tentative monthly schedule
<Ty-> Dausume what is the monthly schedule?
<Dausume> Simply tentative topics for each week, decided by an approval vote at the beginning of the month. This is meant to help by establishing a means to advertise talking topics
<Dausume> And enable us to potentially draw people in via the newsletter by advertising what we are doing and concerned about

<DreadPirateDrew> Do we have a needs list/action items that need accomplished for our events?
<iAmV> Not quite
<yari> Well, I think we need to have another meeting before the end of the week about it, honestly
<yari> just to coordinate stuff
<yari> other than that:
<yari> getting together a list of participating cities / posting stuff to blog and socials / making resources and flyers / getting volunteers for livestream / putting together video for camera walk
<MichaelC_Scribe> oh shoot, that is coming up, isn't it?
<yari> yeah, fast.

<yari> or less, honestly
<MichaelC_Scribe> i'm going to try to talk to the owner of a local coffee shop to see if i can rent out a local space next to the coffee shop.
<MichaelC_Scribe> actually, not try... i will lol
<yari> Jamie thank you for the link I think I'll just go ahead and make a blog post about how people can use this info
<iAmV> Sign up too, for Twitter space slots
<jokeefe> More at https://masspirates.org/wiki/Mapping_Surveillance yari
<papegaai> Title: Mapping Surveillance - Mass Pirate Wiki (at masspirates.org)
<yari> okay cool, well...
<iAmV> How should we proceed
<MichaelC_Scribe> ooh twitter spaces are a good idea
<yari> I think we all know what we need to do
<yari> I mean... I know what *I* need to do
<DreadPirateDrew> I am going to record something for the mapping kickoff. so I don't fumble things live. but am also planning on joining the livestream
<yari> is there anyone who doesn't have something to do?
<DreadPirateDrew> This is the time to coordinate that meeting later this week, I.E. volunteers and time
<iAmV> I've made some stuff
<MichaelC_Scribe> something to do as in...?
<iAmV> I'm thinking that I need more confirmation about Twitter key holders too
<yari> fair, drew. Thursday after platform seemed like a good time for people last time. Alternatively it could just be tomorrow evening
<DreadPirateDrew> I would personally do thursday as tomorrow may be difficult
<yari> Twitter key holders right now are AJ and mitch, mayyybe Liz as well.
<yari> I think that might be it
<yari> ironic since none of them are on the board
<iAmV> Well
<yari> officers, I mean
<MichaelC_Scribe> should the twitter key holders be something that should change? maybe more of us on the pnc should have the keys?
<MichaelC_Scribe> aka officers lol
<yari> it was something that was changing
<MichaelC_Scribe> noted
<yari> it's just that it's lagging behind
<iAmV> I have not seen them in event talks yet
Dausume has quit
<yari> since we've had a lot of changes recently and also twitter changed its login setup by deleting tweetdeck
<DreadPirateDrew> X
<yari> yeah, whatever
<iAmV> Cool
<DreadPirateDrew> lol
<iAmV> Even if it's a little bit, other times other than evenings would be nice
<MichaelC_Scribe> i know deadnaming isn't typically agreed upon, but I can make two exceptions: 1. Kanye West, and 2. Twitter
<iAmV> For planning
<MichaelC_Scribe> anyway, enough jest from me
<yari> V, I'm fine with that
<yari> I'
<yari> I'll send out a poll right now
<iAmV> Ok cool
<yari> I don't think this is a useful way to spend time in a meeting
<DreadPirateDrew> Yari you are correct. Thursday evening? or another time?
<iAmV> I just get sleepy early. And I think more people taking more of the planning initiative will be exciting
<yari> Drew I'm posting a poll for times
<yari> can we move on to a different topic?
<DreadPirateDrew> Sorry, that is my bad
<DreadPirateDrew> Election
<yari> can one of the people who volunteered to help out with the committee *besides me* start a group chat please
<iAmV> Yes
<iAmV> Will make after meeting
<yari> happy to take it from there
<DreadPirateDrew> Anything else on that right now?
<yari> Election committee has to meet, pronto. Nominations should happen asap, but we gotta talk about it
<yari> Motion was to have the election next week
<yari> does that still feel feasible?
<DreadPirateDrew> I think so.
<iAmV> It does for me
<yari> cool, then we'll do it
<iAmV> I'm going to follow up with some people
<MichaelC_Scribe> just to clarify... is this election for chair or vice chair? are we seeking a new person for chair, or is drew stepping into the chair role and we find a new vice chair?
<iAmV> We're filling chair position
<DreadPirateDrew> This will be an election for Chair/Captain
<yari> drew I have a motion for new business if there is nothing else there.
<MichaelC_Scribe> makes sense, thank you
<DreadPirateDrew> I am ready Yari go
<yari> Motion to amend the bylaws:
<yari> to change Article 8, which currently reads:
<yari> (this is the section on Parlimentary Authority)
<yari> The rules contained in the current edition of Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised (RONR) shall govern the Party in all cases to which they are applicable and in which they are not inconsistent with these bylaws and any special rules of order the Party may adopt.
<yari> and to change it to read:
<yari> Consensus Decision Making shall be the parliamentary authority for all matters of procedure not specifically covered by these bylaws.
<DreadPirateDrew> Is there a second?
<JohnnyLemuria> seconded
<DreadPirateDrew> discussion
<yari> PA did it first but we've been talking about changing it for a while.
<yari> consensus is basically what we do already but we could do it better if we do it intentionally
<yari> Everyone hates RONR
<JohnnyLemuria> I've seen too many meetings torpedoed by RONR
<DreadPirateDrew> RONR can be weaponized terribly
<jokeefe> I have seen meeting torpedoed by Consensus Decision Making
<yari> Jamie, would you care to elaborate on your concerns?
<jokeefe> ROR is defined. We should define with Consensus Decision Making process we will use
<JohnnyLemuria> good point
<jokeefe> Consensus implies all agree or those that don’t agree step aside. RONR requres a majority.
<yari> If I am reading your statement correctly then we have different understandings of consensus
<jokeefe> I feel that changing to CDM requires more thought and shouldn’t be decided in the last eight minutes of a meeting.
<yari> which only probes your point
<yari> proves
<jokeefe> Then we need to define which Consensus process we will use, yari
<yari> agreed, I think that makes sense
<yari> would you be willing to help me with that?
<jokeefe> yes
<yari> cool.
<DreadPirateDrew> Shall we table this?
<yari> I would like to table it, pending further changes.
<DreadPirateDrew> any objection?
<jokeefe> none here
<DreadPirateDrew> OK I don't see any objections, so it's tabled
<DreadPirateDrew> Will that be until Yari has an amended proposal or to a specific date?
<yari> Two weeks, please.
<yari> I don't want it to impinge on election stuff
<DreadPirateDrew> Sounds good. That will be another IRC meeting which is conducive to proposals like this in txt
<yari> motion to adjourn
<jokeefe> 2nd
<DreadPirateDrew> all in favor?
<yari> aye
<jokeefe> aye
21:58:13 <JohnnyLemuria> aye
