New Business

Bodily Autonomy Plank

At the September 1st platform meeting the following was approved to be sent to the PNC for consideration as a new platform plank.

We believe that bodily autonomy should be universally protected with federal legislation or constitutional amendment rather than being protected by unstable court decisions or state governments. Everyone has the right to make decisions about their body without unjustified government interference. Limited evidence based public health regulations are appropriate to insure herd immunity, but the government must not use them to deny bodily autonomy.


Abortion is critical healthcare. Further restrictions on abortion have caused severe harms, when already the United States has the highest maternal mortality in the developed world. We will enact federal legislation protecting the right to an abortion. We will repeal the Hyde Amendment and guarantee abortion access with interstate-travel protections and legal protections for healthcare providers. To further enshrine abortion access, and close the door for future meddling, the Comstock Act should be repealed. We will ensure affordable access to contraception, IVF, and we will prohibit forced or coerced sterilization.

We will pass legislation affirming Lawrence v. Texas & Martin v. Ziherl and the right of consenting adults to engage in private sexual activity. We will ban conversion therapy federally, as it's an abhorrent archaic practice with no place in a free society.

We will decriminalize consensual adult sex work, while maintaining strong laws against trafficking, exploitation, violence, coercion and abuse of minors. Criminalization pushes sex workers away from healthcare and labor protections and drastically increases the rate of abuse.
We will protect access to gender affirming care, including puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and surgery. Morphological freedom is a critical aspect of bodily autonomy. We will guarantee an informed consent model nationally for those seeking gender affirming care. We will remove unnecessary barriers to care and deschedule testosterone. Through federal legislation, we will make legal gender based on a self-identification system, and recognize a third gender. The cost to change one’s legal name should be affordable. We will ban elective surgeries on intersex infants without an immediate medical concern.

Arizona

We didn’t host a weekly meeting. It was canceled in preparation for traveling to the Phoenix event. However, due to unforeseen personal circumstances, I couldn’t make it to Phoenix that night so I would have schedule another time for us to go to Phoenix again. We are preparing for the campaign rally tomorrow from 10 to 12 at a nearby park. We will do meet and greet, offer pamphlets, have a speech then go from there. Hopefully the news will be there again but probably not. It might rain so that’ Next In person meeting is this coming Wednesday

Maryland

• The last planned meeting did not occur. Lightfoot has spoken with members for feedback for forming a MDPP platform. Lightfoot will be attending a pirate themed event locally to promote the party.

Massachusetts

• They will be holding a crypto party in the next few weeks with a hackathon as well as doing some camera mapping son . A poll will be put out for MAPP members for their next state conference. They are working on voter outreach and putting out videos to keep up their momentum.

Ohio

• On September 3rd, OHPP had the first general meeting. Future meeting dates/times were set. They plan to continue meeting on the first Thursday of the month at 5:30PM ET.

Pennsylvania

• They are looking into having a re-org meeting in the near future. Anyone in PA is encouraged to reach out on discord in the Pennsylvania channel to connect to get this meeting to happen.

IT Committee

• No meeting this week Bale is still working on getting work schedule and committee schedule to mesh

Platform Committee

• Platform has been working on a bodily autonomy plank, and has looked some at native relations. As always people are encouraged to attend.

• Smith won with 6/6 first preference votes.
• Onoroski moved to table coalition discussion and bodily autonomy plank discussion to the next meeting Tipping seconded
• passed with no objection

Conference Location Discussion

• Ward moved for a voice vote to determine the 2027, 2028, and 2029 conference locations simultaneously, Onoroski seconded.
• Bingaman asked if the motion would be premature for selecting the 2028 and 2029 conferences.
• Ward withdrew her motion.
• Tipping moved to have a voice vote for the 2027 conference location, Ward seconded.
• Henry asked that Tuscon be withdrawn as an option for the 2027 conference location.
• Ward presented the case for Mobile
• Lightfoot presented the case for Baltimore
