[8:06:33 PM] <wodensday> Calling this meeting to order at 9:06 eastern time.

[8:06:47 PM] <papegaai> Title: Outreach 10/05/2021 - United States Pirate Party (at wiki.uspirates.org)
[8:07:38 PM] <Nolan> Uh
[8:07:44 PM] <Nolan> Nolan S., IA
[8:07:47 PM] <Nolan> ?
[8:07:54 PM] <wodensday> Oh, yes, IDs
[8:08:02 PM] <wodensday> Indiana, Anthony Jay
[8:08:03 PM] <wodensday> Wait
[8:08:05 PM] <wodensday> Ah screw it
[8:08:09 PM] <Radiojoe> WIlliam Dappen CA
[8:08:45 PM] ← jokeefe has left (Ping timeout: 255 seconds)
[8:08:49 PM] <pmchi> Mitchel Davilo, Chicagoland/ILPP, Swarmcare Manager
[8:09:22 PM] <wodensday> First, the old guard brought something to my attention I needed to address with the committee. according to Liz and Ktetch, there is a policy of identifying yourself in social media posts. This has simply gone unenforced for a few years.
[8:10:03 PM] <wodensday> As this is the policy on the books, we should stick to it. Unless any of you wish to present an argument for appealing it for some reason.
[8:10:52 PM] <Radiojoe> Nope, I was simply clueless, is this restricted to national or statewide as well?
[8:11:06 PM] <pmchi> I assume it’s only for official USPP accounts
[8:11:17 PM] <pmchi> As such, no complaints to return to using initials
[8:11:31 PM] <wodensday> Yeah, incorporation would inquire a change to the bylaws to require that of all state parties. States can pass this on their own volition
[8:11:47 PM] <wodensday> require*
[8:11:59 PM] → jokeefe has joined
[8:11:59 PM] ⓘ ChanServ gives ops to jokeefe
[8:12:06 PM] <wodensday> Yeah, none of us knew.
[8:12:15 PM] <wodensday> Welcome, jokeefe
[8:13:16 PM] <jokeefe> ahoy
[8:13:21 PM] <wodensday> That being said, this is written outreach standard so it is what we shall do. If someone would like to contest it, this is your time.
[8:13:35 PM] <jokeefe> mostly lurking though
[8:13:46 PM] <wodensday> (y)
[8:14:04 PM] <wodensday> I'm going to assume that none of us want to vote against transparency and move on.
[8:14:06 PM] <Radiojoe> I think this might be no-contest
[8:14:12 PM] <Radiojoe> ^
[8:14:30 PM] <wodensday> Excellent!
[8:14:42 PM] <Nolan> Pardon my interruption
[8:14:51 PM] <wodensday> Go ahead!
[8:15:16 PM] <Nolan> nvm
[8:15:17 PM] <Nolan> Wait actually
[8:15:29 PM] <Nolan> I didn't understand what was just said
[8:15:32 PM] <Nolan> Sorry
[8:15:53 PM] <wodensday> Oh, no worries, I can clarify
[8:16:57 PM] <wodensday> It is technically written policy to identify yourself when making social media post on USPP (For example, maybe you put your initials at the bottom). However, none of the new guard knew this and the old guard haven't been doing it for a while either. But Liz and Ktetch would like to see that it's continued
[8:17:04 PM] <wodensday> So we will be doing it from now on
[8:17:18 PM] <Nolan> Thanks for clarifying
[8:17:41 PM] <wodensday> No problem!
[8:18:12 PM] <wodensday> So, Joe wanted to see if we could talk YouTube. Though, unfortunately, I believe he was unable to make it.
[8:18:46 PM] <wodensday> Does anyone have any thoughts on producing YouTube content they'd like to add? If not we can move on to our PATRIOT Act progress update
[8:20:04 PM] <Radiojoe> Hmm, not much from my end
[8:20:05 PM] <Nolan> Sigh
[8:20:39 PM] <wodensday> Nolan, is there something we're neglecting?
[8:21:02 PM] <Nolan> Well
[8:21:05 PM] <Nolan> Uh
[8:21:33 PM] <Nolan> Maybe some quick videos describing Pirate Politics, but that's all I got
[8:23:01 PM] <wodensday> Noted.
[8:23:16 PM] <pmchi> YouTube shorts/TikToks should be on the to-do list, it’s just a matter of someone willing to make them
[8:23:17 PM] <wodensday> Alright, PATRIOT Act time.
[8:24:12 PM] <wodensday> I believe the outreach committee has the powers to do so. It's just a matter of allocating people power
[8:25:28 PM] <Nolan> Well
[8:25:34 PM] <Nolan> Uh
[8:26:36 PM] <Radiojoe> yeah, I think thats something we can figure out after this, as a large portion of our time and energy is being taken up with the Patriot act already as of now
[8:26:37 PM] <wodensday> Nolan, are you interested? It's alright to say so! We may have to ask how much prior public speaking experience you have as a follow0up, though
[8:27:13 PM] <Nolan> Yes, but also no
[8:29:07 PM] <wodensday> If you're interested, we can definitely help you hone the necessary skills
[8:29:26 PM] <wodensday> That may be a conversation for another day though. Or one for off the record
[8:29:52 PM] <wodensday> If there are no objections, it's probably time for PATRIOT Act updates
[8:30:27 PM] ← Nolan has left (Quit: Ping timeout (120 seconds))
[8:30:49 PM] <wodensday> Never mind, Joe is coming
[8:31:04 PM] → Joe has joined
[8:31:07 PM] → Nolan has joined
[8:31:09 PM] <Joe> Ahoy
[8:31:13 PM] <Nolan> Gosh darn it
[8:31:14 PM] <Radiojoe> howdee
[8:31:19 PM] <Joe> Sry for late
[8:31:36 PM] <pmchi> something. Is there anyone in particular you’d also like me to reach out to?
[8:31:36 PM] <pmchi> In regards to the PATRIOT Act, I wanted to send out emails about collaboration tonight. I was hoping to get to local political political parties in Illinois (named Greens and LP) to hopefully get something going in terms of promotion and awareness. I also wanted to reach out to YouTubers. Mr. Beat and Second Thought are ones I keep bringing up, but only because I’m certain I’ll be emailing them and certain they may produce
[8:31:57 PM] <pmchi> Ahoy Joe
[8:32:39 PM] <wodensday> Would everyone be okay if we backtrack and give our YT conversation with Joe the stage? I'd like everyone's input on this
[8:32:43 PM] <wodensday> Also, make sure to ID Joe
[8:32:47 PM] <Joe> I would make contact with any other civil right groups in the area.
[8:33:01 PM] <Joe> Joseph Onoroski, Treasurer, Massachusetts
[8:33:10 PM] <Radiojoe> sure, is it okay if i begin drafting a email on ether during this convo?
[8:33:18 PM] <pmchi> Of course. And Joe thank you!
[8:33:30 PM] <pmchi> Please do!
[8:33:35 PM] <wodensday> Yes! I'm aware we're behind schedule. Tried drafting an email of my own but it was meh
[8:33:55 PM] → yari has joined
[8:34:03 PM] <wodensday> Welcome! Yari
[8:34:07 PM] <yari> Hi
[8:34:07 PM] <wodensday> Oooh, big crowd
[8:34:11 PM] <Joe> Ahoy
[8:34:13 PM] <yari> What did I miss
[8:34:27 PM] <wodensday> It's complicate
[8:34:28 PM] <wodensday> d
[8:34:33 PM] <yari> This is Rose Klein, CA
[8:34:41 PM] <yari> USPP chair
[8:34:55 PM] <wodensday> So, Joe, you mentioned being able to help us out with our content goals. May you give us some more background on that?
[8:36:21 PM] <Joe> First, I would suggest that you treat it like any other plan. Formulate a series of achievable goal and start working on them.
[8:37:17 PM] <Joe> I speak specifically to making a 30/60/120 goals.
[8:37:28 PM] <wodensday> We have some. I was under the impression you had some kind of resources to provide though, such as production quality. Was I mistaken?
[8:38:04 PM] <Joe> In terms of video production?
[8:38:10 PM] <wodensday> Yes
[8:38:56 PM] <Joe> I have some experience, though I would still classify myself as an amateur.
[8:39:18 PM] <Joe> I prefer prism video editor.
[8:40:02 PM] <Joe> https://prism-video-converter.en.softonic.com/download
[8:40:16 PM] <wodensday> Are you willing to be part of a team producing video content, whenever you may find time to benefit the swarm in that way? (I know you're a very busy guy, so there is no pressure)
[8:40:26 PM] <Joe> A very robust system
[8:42:22 PM] → richardcarroillinoispir has joined
[8:42:22 PM] <Joe> Lol, pretty sure I would be happy to keep us on track and give when I can.
[8:42:49 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> How do I join
[8:42:57 PM] <wodensday> Haha, sounds good. I've yet to give you a rundown of our plans, that's on me, I'll send them your way later
[8:43:04 PM] <Joe> That said, I would be better suited to giide more than do.
[8:43:07 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> How do I join the video
[8:43:11 PM] <Joe> Guide*
[8:43:12 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> I’m stuck onchat
[8:43:19 PM] <wodensday> We are chat-only
[8:43:23 PM] <pmchi> This is chat only
[8:43:24 PM] <wodensday> Please ID though!
[8:43:26 PM] <wodensday> Name and state
[8:43:28 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> Oh ok
[8:43:33 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> Richard Carro
[8:43:38 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> Illinois Pirate Party
[8:43:53 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> Is that ok?
[8:43:53 PM] <wodensday> Danke schon
[8:43:57 PM] <wodensday> Yes!
[8:44:01 PM] <pmchi> Perfect
[8:44:05 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> Yeah
[8:44:08 PM] <Joe> We do the video/broadcast on jitsi
[8:44:29 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> I was saying maybe I could make an
[8:44:32 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> Animation vid
[8:44:54 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> And some pirate propaganda on the
[8:44:54 PM] <Joe> The challenge is that I run a growing business, all my duties in the party already and being locally very active.
[8:44:59 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> Patriot act issue
[8:45:00 PM] <wodensday> Oh, on the PATRIOT Act, yeah. Do you have animation experience, Richard?
[8:45:14 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> Yeah. I’m better with graphics
[8:45:17 PM] <wodensday> Joe, I totally understand! No worries
[8:45:20 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> But I know how to run animation
[8:45:43 PM] <wodensday> Can you get Mitch some kind of proof-of-concept?
[8:45:52 PM] <wodensday> So he can ensure it's what he wants
[8:45:54 PM] <jokeefe> For the record: James O’Keefe, Massachusetts (but I am mostly lurking)
[8:45:54 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> Elaborate
[8:46:02 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> So like, a sample video?
[8:46:17 PM] <Radiojoe> have to go, email is at hte bottom of https://etherpad.pp-international.net/p/USPP_PATRIOT_act_contacts
[8:46:18 PM] <papegaai> Title: Etherpad (at etherpad.pp-international.net)
[8:46:19 PM] <Radiojoe> brb
[8:46:24 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> I can do a sample video
[8:46:32 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> So Mitch can see what he likes
[8:46:35 PM] <Joe> Hey Jokeefe
[8:46:38 PM] <wodensday> Well, pmchi is looking to pay, so it may be good form if you can demonstrate to him your process/software/etc so he can see if it's a good fit for his vision
[8:46:53 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> Mh sounds good
[8:47:02 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> Also, the IL pirates are looking to
[8:47:08 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> Pick up some voter registration
[8:47:11 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> Rolls
[8:47:16 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> For recruitment and other purpose
[8:47:24 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> So that’s something cool
[8:47:34 PM] <Joe> I would be happy to sit and teach you what I know or even better to point anyone of us in the right direction
[8:47:52 PM] <wodensday> That sounds fantastic.
[8:48:10 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> hmm?
[8:48:12 PM] <wodensday> So, even if we are a bit behind schedule, the swarm seems to be moving. I'm happy to see it.
[8:48:19 PM] <Joe> Best possible use of time would be knocking on doors and filling out surveys
[8:48:35 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> maybe the rolls can help with that
[8:48:41 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> it has adressses
[8:48:44 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> useful
[8:48:54 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> and it’s free! the county offers it
[8:48:57 PM] <Joe> Even running on campaigns for others to build our experience
[8:49:18 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> the rolls are helpful to Mitch’s camp in
[8:49:21 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> Il3
[8:49:25 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> AND
[8:49:29 PM] <wodensday> This is some great work. Though, it is unrelated. I may ask that you continue this conversation elsewhere so e can get back on track.
[8:49:29 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> Other movements we do
[8:49:43 PM] <richardcarroillinoispir> Alright, let’s go to topic again
[8:50:42 PM] <wodensday> PATRIOT Act. Radiojoe should be working on an email, we're building our list of contacts, and we have a hashtag. What I am hearing is that we are in motion and can start contacting people tonight and tomorrow. Is that correct?
[8:50:42 PM] ← richardcarroillinoispir has left (Quit: Connection closed)
[8:51:07 PM] <yari> Contacting orgs?
[8:51:17 PM] <wodensday> People and orgs, yeah
[8:51:55 PM] <wodensday> We should try to have most of this beginning stuff done by the end of the week, since we're a bit behind schedule as it is
[8:51:59 PM] <wodensday> Any comments or concerns?
[8:52:05 PM] <yari> And there’s a video team being put together?
[8:52:12 PM] <wodensday> Yes, led by Mitch
[8:52:23 PM] <pmchi> Well, funded by Mitch
[8:52:29 PM] <yari> For the purpose of promo stuff or for the actual event schedule?
[8:53:01 PM] <yari> Because we need to work on filling the actual event schedule
[8:53:09 PM] <wodensday> Mitch is promo video. I believe Bosun is stream, though I need to follow up with him, and we will need others on that panel
[8:53:25 PM] <yari> Bosun should not be the only one on stream
[8:53:50 PM] <wodensday> Yes
[8:53:51 PM] <Joe> Well, if you are looking to have funds. This would be something that you can pull funds for from the USPP
[8:53:58 PM] ← Nolan has left (Ping timeout: 260 seconds)
[8:53:59 PM] <yari> Are we contacting orgs to invite them to participate in the streaming?
[8:54:33 PM] <wodensday> It would be my suggestion that we try to either pull orgs in to sending someone to the stream or pulling individuals from orgs to ask
[8:54:39 PM] <Joe> I only request that you make it formal through the normal meeting
[8:54:43 PM] <jokeefe> It isn’t clear to me what the game plan is and what we are asking groups to do. Would someone summarize the plan?
[8:54:56 PM] <yari> ^
[8:55:40 PM] <yari> Though I did arrive late, that’s on me
[8:56:49 PM] <wodensday> We are asking groups to participate in the digital protest, encourage their members/followers to do the same, and to post or make media on the topic toward the end of this month. if they would like. Ideally, it would be nice to get some of them collaborating with us more directly. Radiojoe should have a draft email that conveys this better than I can now by the end of tonight
[8:57:43 PM] <jokeefe> thanks
[8:57:46 PM] <yari> That should be more actionable
[8:58:06 PM] <Joe> My involvement would be with guidance on video production. At least getting the team going.
[8:58:20 PM] <wodensday> The fantastic beautiful writeup we made a few meetings ago seems lost to time. my apologies. I put it in one of those text files IRC asks you to do sometimes, thinking you can read it from the record. You cannot.
[8:58:55 PM] <Joe> Plus please submit a request for funds. We can easily get a gofundme going for a project like this.
[8:58:59 PM] <yari> Especially with this coming up so soon. I understand the wish to be vague with impressive groups, but we need to appear as if we have clear things they can do to help
[8:59:19 PM] <jokeefe> One posibility would be to have a live stream where we invite on different representatives to talk about why the PATRIOT ACT is bad and what we should do about it? Perhaps to coincide with the anniversary
[8:59:19 PM] <yari> Joe what do we need funds for
[8:59:38 PM] <yari> Jokeefe that seems to be the idea, yes
[8:59:44 PM] <wodensday> Jokeefe, I believe that's the plan for the livestream, yes
[8:59:52 PM] <jokeefe> okey dokey
[8:59:53 PM] <Joe> Video editing and production.
[9:00:16 PM] <Joe> I use prism
[9:00:22 PM] <Joe> https://prism-video-converter.en.softonic.com/download
[9:00:24 PM] <papegaai> Title: Download Prism Video Converter - free - latest version (at prism-video-converter.en.softonic.com)
[9:00:57 PM] <wodensday> This is a very swarm-y project, so being new to the chair thing I've lost track of some of the information. Pmchi, Radiojoe, feel free to add if I'm missing things or clarifying poorly
[9:02:04 PM] <wodensday> (Though, we should probably adjourn soon)
[9:02:10 PM] <Joe> Yari, I only require this to be a formal request through uspp if that is the direction they take.
[9:02:22 PM] <yari> I understand Joe
[9:02:50 PM] <yari> Those are the rules
[9:03:03 PM] <yari> Move to adjourn
[9:03:25 PM] <wodensday> Motion on the table
[9:04:18 PM] <pmchi> Second the motion
[9:04:28 PM] <wodensday> Any objections?
[9:04:34 PM] <yari> None
[9:05:16 PM] <wodensday> All in favor?
[9:05:25 PM] <pmchi> Aye
[9:05:40 PM] <yari> Aye
[9:05:42 PM] <Joe> Aye
[9:06:08 PM] <wodensday> Radiojoe, Nolan, Jokeefe,
[9:06:24 PM] <wodensday> Hm, never mind, Nolan is no longer present
[9:06:51 PM] <jokeefe> have a great night!
[9:07:15 PM] <wodensday> ...I'll take that as an overwhelming majority, haha
[9:07:32 PM] <wodensday> Meeting adjourned at 10:07 eastern time
[9:08:08 PM] <wodensday> Let me get the log posted and I will be in pirate chat'
