A new Bylaws Proposal involving Council Board Eligibility: We worked on a proposal to the AZPP bylaws that would determine the eligibility of those who have been on the council board and has stepped down/resigned. The main goal of the bylaw is to prevent previous board members who stepped down/resigned for bad reasons or none at all from running again without consequences. It still needs work and will continue to be worked on at the next meeting.
Stop Killing Games/Internet Platform Proposal: We added a new section to the AZPP platform called Stop Killing Internet & Games that involves a whole lot with the Stop Killing Internet/Games movements and our strong support for those movements. You can see the new section on our platform here https://azpirateparty.org/platform.html
Outreach Action Plan: We finished the Outreach Action Plan to further improve our outreach efforts and have a loose schedule to try and adhere to going forward to try and keep up the efforts.

All Hands for a Free Future Coalition Council

  • The 2 representatives for the coalition council need to be filled.

Bylaws Committee

  • At the last meeting there was discussion for setting up a bylaws committee to work on bylaws changes / resources for officers to know what their role should do.

New Business

Lookout Vacancy

  • As of October 2, 2026, the lookout position is vacant. Per past procedure the following needs to occur:
  • set election date.
  • form election committee.
  • send out nomination form.
  • have vetting committee meet between close of form and election.

Housing & Transit Plank

The following was sent from platform to PNC for review/feedback. Not intended for immediate adoption at this time.

Housing is a human right. This means that people should be secure in their homes free from the threat of eviction or excessive taxes. People should have access to all utilities required for life, including: Water, electricity, and high speed internet, services which millions of Americans currently lack. Housing must be affordable. High costs of housing clashing with basic needs must be resolved. Urban housing must be habitable and located in a location close to places of work, health-care facilities, schools, and other facilities. A cheap house in a food desert hours away from the nearest hospital should not be lauded as affordable or accessible. As a start for recognizing this right we propose the following:

  • Establishing a right to decent housing with federal legislation.
  • Ending no-cause evictions and holdover evictions.
  • Establishing a federal right to counsel for tenants.
  • Giving tenants and qualified housing nonprofits the right of first refusal when their unit is sold. (including mobile home parks)
  • Prohibiting the algorithmic price fixing of rents.
  • Disallowing credit checks in renting.
  • Fully funding the housing choice program.
  • Providing funding for a housing first model for homelessness at a federal level.
  • Further prohibiting the ability of landlords to illegally discriminate by requiring a detailed report to an applicant denied for a rental, mortgage, home loan application, or similar.

We must dramatically rethink America's 20th century experiment in low-density land use and return to human centered, livable cities. We have robbed generations of Americans of their childhoods by forcing everyone into a car including those unable to drive. We have polluted our cities by enshrining cars as the only reliable means of transportation. We have destroyed the formerly thriving passenger rail industry through a trillion dollar subsidy to the national highway system. We will:

  • Restructure residential zoning categories to allow for all types of housing, including ADUs, to be built in areas zoned for residential.
  • Replace property taxes at all levels with revenue neutral land value taxes to promote productive development.
  • Provide Federal funding to support capital projects & operating expenses for new and existing metro, lightrail and streetcar systems.
  • Nationalize, electrify, and modernize railroad infrastructure while allowing existing rail companies to remain private operators.
  • Construct a nation wide high speed passenger rail system with expedited environmental review and minimal external contractors.
