On This Date (OTD)

This page is a list for events available to be featured on future "On The Day (OTD)" installments on the website. Please do not remove any dates or events, but feel free to add events worthy of remembering by Pirate Party members. Please refrain from birthdays/death days unless the figure is historical and/or intimately tied to the Pirate Party or movement, be in spirit or directly, in some capacity.

Please note the series is being run under the title of "On This Day" and thus "On This Date" as this page is entitled would be incorrect regarding naming the installments.

  Robert Smalls passes away (1915).

March

• 25th - the term "Gerrymander" coined.

April

• 5th - Robert Smalls is born (1839).
• 30th - Organization of American States chartered (1948).

• 31st - Pirate Bay raid occurs (2006).

June

• 1st - Vermin Supreme is born (1961).
• 6th - United States Pirate Party founded (2006).
• 22nd - Congress of Panama begins (1826).

July

• 10th - Electronic Frontier Foundation is founded (1990).
• 11th - John Quincy Adams is born (1767).

September

• 2nd - Principality of Sealand declared (1967).

October

• 4th - Free Software Foundation founded (1985).
• 26th - PATRIOT Act passed (2001).
