[9:09pm] jokeefe: Anyhow, we have few organized states, that having contacts listed for each state would help people connect
[9:09pm] pmchi: Like where we already have organization, have those states be Pirate regional areas of recruitment
[9:10pm] pmchi: MA overseeing New England, IL oversees the Midwest, etc
[9:10pm] jokeefe: that is a good idea too. MA could concentrate on New England, certainly.

[9:11pm] jokeefe: We have people who signed up at crew.uspirates.org, but haven’t been organized, so letting a state organizer contact them would help.
[9:11pm] Korath: So there will be regional conferences of pirate parties?
[9:12pm] Olivia_: We have new people!  I'm reading the minutes now what I missed.
[9:13pm] pmchi: Korath: to get the organization process going. Just means Oregon won’t have to worry about getting Indiana off the ground
[9:13pm] Korath: I have a hard time seeing a pirate party in Indiana
[9:14pm] Korath: makes sense that so far the parties have been in New England/West Coast

[9:16pm] Korath: Discord is honestly the best way to recruit people. If the US Pirate Party Discord makes partnerships with other Political/Technology servers on discord for promoting its platform that would be excellent.

[9:26pm] Korath: I would like to talk about setting up a ambassador role once the discord opens up

[9:26pm] yari: We have to assume that discord will not stay open and free forever. Having a discord<->IRC bridge is something we should pursue more doggedly

[9:27pm] Korath: I mean discord is bad because it collects and sells user data to make money
[9:28pm] Korath: that is how it remains free and without ad for the most parts
[9:28pm] Korath: we should promote the use of IRC because they are open source and free
[9:28pm] jokeefe: We could use Element, but not sure it has the same feature set
[9:29pm] jokeefe: One problem with IRC is if you aren’t logged in, you won’t see a message.
[9:29pm] Olivia_: There is Discourse too it's open source and a forum.  I don't know if they have private forums though because the PPI one for the GA is public.
[9:30pm] pmchi: I was about to say the SRA uses Discourse and it works really well if that’s the direction to go
[9:30pm] Korath: I think using discord to recruit people is still the best option for now though
[9:30pm] Korath: since a lot of people are familiar with it and on it
[9:30pm] Korath: most people dont even know what a IRC is
[9:31pm] jokeefe: We have tried so many different tools and not gotten anywhere. hopefully discord will help.

[9:32pm] Olivia_: There's Telegram but it's like Element where it's just one stream of info with no boards and sub boards.

[9:33pm] Olivia_: Hundreds of millions of people just went there in the past 2 weeks after all the drama with WhatsApp.

[9:40pm] Joe: Thinking more or less work on a given piece and then bring it back that week to the national committee for voting

[9:41pm] pmchi: The committee works out the kinks and presents it to the PNC for voting is excellent

[9:45pm] pmchi: Very important committee. I noticed some people were turned off at the vague nature of the USPP’s platform. This would be essential moving forward

[9:46pm] Joe: I'm particularly keen on the education system and labor parts myself. I agree pmchi, a lot of people don't know what we stand for because a lot has to be clarified.
[9:46pm] Korath: I guess we are working the time/day at next week PNC meeting
[9:46pm] Olivia_: There is already a meeting on Sunday, Tuesday, and MassPirates on Wednesday.  How about Friday?
[9:46pm] Joe: Day/time should be figured if we have full approval of the council's leading members, we will have to wait to decide unfortunately
